Boiler Flue & Accessories
A boiler flue is a critical component of a property's central heating system. Acting like a chimney, it is responsible for taking away a variety of waste products, including harmful gases/fumes, that are generated by the boiler. Carbon dioxide and water vapour are the two typical waste products created by modern boilers.
All condensing boilers require flues. The flue normally runs from the boiler to an external wall. Flues come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the boiler size and type, and where it is located in the property. There are round flues, square flues, horizontal flues, and vertical flues. Square flues tend to be associated with older systems/boilers, whilst new boilers will have horizontal or round flues. When replacing any boiler, you need to make sure that the correct flue is in-place in order to meet regulations.
Boiler flue maintenance is important, so it is recommended that you have your whole boiler serviced and cleaned at least every 12 months.
Here at Heating and Plumbing World, we offer a number of flues and accessories, as well as replacement parts. This includes horizontal and vertical flue kits, boiler flashing kits, flue elbows, angled roof plates, flue clamps, wall brackets, and flue/condensate guards. A number of these products are made by Andrews Water Heaters, a leading manufacturer of commercial gas fired water heaters, who also specialise in flues and accessories.
