LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) equipment is used for barbecues, caravan cookers and caravan heaters and includes components such as hoses, fittings and valves for use in portable and outdoor equipment. When used together correctly, these components provide efficient, portable and convenient energy solutions when you are away from home or on the move.
What is Liquid Petroleum Gas?
LPG is a flammable mixture of propane and butane gases which exists as a gas at room temperature but is stored and transported as a liquid. In its natural state, LPG is odourless and colourless but as with most gases, an odour is added to help detect any leaks. It is also highly flammable and burns with a high heat output which makes it suitable for water heaters and cookers.
Uses for LPG
LPG is commonly used in barbecues and heaters and cookers in caravans. It is an excellent fuel for barbecues because it can be easily transported, heats up quickly, the temperature can be

Expansion vessels are crucial for maintaining a constant and adequate water pressure level within a drinking water or heating system. These vessels look just like small water tanks and are also known as expansion tanks. Within these vessels is a rubber diaphragm, the function of which is to keep the compressed air and the water from the system apart.
Expansion vessels can be either potable or nonpotable. Potable expansion vessels are used in drinking water systems and must meet stringent standards around cleanliness. Non-potable vessels are used within heating systems where water is not suitable for drinking.
When water is heated, it expands. The expansion vessel is designed to deal with this and gives the extra water volume somewhere to go. Without this, pressure would build and build, and the system pipes could potentially burst. Any appliances that are plumbed into the system

Pressurisation units are a key part of a healthy and efficient sealed central heating system. Choosing a high quality pressurisation unit from Heating and Plumbing World is a great way to ensure that the central heating system you create will be able to deliver optimum performance with a longer lifespan.
The Risks Of Cavitation
If the water in a system is not sufficiently pressurised, there is a risk of cavitation occurring. This takes place when the static pressure of the water falls below its vapour pressure and causes small cavities (also known as voids, or, simply, as bubbles) filled with vapour to develop inside the liquid. These bubbles can then collapse when placed under higher pressure levels, which results in dangerous shock waves which are damaging to machinery and other components within the water system. If cavitation is taking place, then you will likely find that components are wearing out far quicker than expected due to this damage, which can make it a costly problem to resolve.
This is why investing in an effective pressurisation unit is the wisest course of action.
How Pressurisation Units Work
Sometimes the pressure within a sealed heating system may drop due to a leaking pipe or simply bleeding a radiator, and this can lead to problems. This is where having a quality pressurisation unit is key. These units will automatically detect any drop in water pressure, engaging switches which then act at once to replace the water lost from the system, thereby keeping everything running smoothly as it should. Pressurisation units can also be used with any pump system, including chilling systems, making them the ideal solution for both domestic and commercial environments. These units can be used successfully with other system pumps.
The water used to top up the central heating system will be drawn from the mains supply, which means that in order to ensure the best possible results, a Backflow Protection device should always be fitted in conjunction with any pressurisation units.
When setting up pressurisation units, there are a few points to consider. The unit is to be placed at a "neutral" point in the water system.
Other Benefits Of Pressurisation Units
Pressurisation units are to be used with sealed or "closed" water systems, which means that they are able to deliver benefits over traditional "open" water systems. In an "open" system, which features a feed and expansion tank which is typically sited at the highest point of the system, there are often problems caused by the ability to allow air into the system. These common issues include corrosion of plumbing elements and, therefore, higher maintenance and part replacement costs over the longer term. There can also be difficulty in finding a suitable space of sufficient size to set up the expansion tank.
Pressurisation units, meanwhile, are completely sealed, so the risk of corrosion caused by oxidisation is eliminated. This means that such systems can work more effectively for longer. These units are rather more compact than traditional expansion tanks and can be located at any neutral point in the system, with options for wall mounted or
