Potterton Boilers
Potterton are one of the world's oldest manufacturers of boilers, completing their first installation in 1902. The company began in Balham, London as a general engineering company. By the 1930s their name was clearly associated with boilers. They acquired considerable prestige by outfitting Leicester Square Odeon and 10 Downing Street.
Another landmark was the development of the 'Diplomat' boiler in 1955. This Potterton boiler was the first designed specifically for domestic houses. Thereafter, boilers become a standard feature in new builds. Other types of Potterton boiler followed and quickly earned a reputation for reliability and being easy to repair.
Potterton were bought out in 2010 and became part of BDR Thermea Group along with Baxi, Myson, De Dietrich and others. Most current Potterton boilers are manufactured using Baxi components but they have continued to develop their own distinctive products such as the Potterton Assure, Potterton Titanium Heat and Potterton Ultra. Both current and earlier models of Potterton boiler have a good reputation. Many 1980s and 1990s Potterton's are still going strong and the parts for them are still available.
For example, the Potterton Profile boiler is still considered one of their best. Although it is non-condensing, its reliability is second to none. We can supply a full range of quality spare parts to keep your Potterton Profile boiler running so don't be in haste to replace it.
The same is true for many of their older combis. The Potterton combi boiler - the Gold Combi 24 - won the "Best Buy" award from Which? consumer magazine five years running, from 2006 to 2010. The current Potterton combi boiler is still a version of the Potterton Gold, while the Potterton Titanium is geared for homes with higher heating and water demands.
