They are important in ensuring that the appliances are working correctly and safely. Some can also be used to monitor air quality by measuring the levels of dangerous gases such as CO2 in a given space.

The Kane 258 combustion analyser is an entry-level analyser for domestic oil, gas and biomass appliances. The 258 measures levels of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Oxygen (O2), and temperature, and calculates the CO/CO2 ratio, combustion efficiency, loss, excess air, and differential temperature.
The Kane 358 Flue Gas Analyser with CO sensor protection builds on the solid foundations of the 258 but provides several additional features. The 358 is suitable for flue draughts and is capable of combustion performance checks, combustion efficiency checks, and can measure differential pressure. It is compatible with a variety of fuel types, including natural gas, LPG, light oil, propane, butane, and wood pellets. As well as being available as standalone analyser, the 358 is also available in a range of kits.
The Kane 458 Combustion Flue Gas Analyser includes all elements found in the 358 plus a number of more advanced features such as CO safety checks, and optional NO sensor. It also has a hydrophobic filter to prevent water damage. Again, this is available standalone or in a range of kits such as the PRO kit, which includes a thermal infrared printer, carry bag, clamps, and probes.
Kane also offer a 458 analyser specifically for Indoor Air Quality (the 458s IAQ), and the 460 HVACR analyser.
