The Oxypilot is a safety device that is responsible for ensuring that carbon monoxide levels are safe and regulated. It is able to detect the oxygen percentage and turn off the gas valve/pilot light if this is too low. All gas fires are fitted with this component.
Thermocouples are simple devices that are used to measure temperatures. They do this by generating a small voltage. The function of a thermocouple in a boiler is to shut off the gas valve if the pilot light goes out. This makes it a key component from a safety perspective. Thermocouples are fairly inexpensive and durable.
