The Reflex 8L Potable Vessel is indispensable for modern unvented hot water systems. For systems supplying drinking water, a potable-specific vessel is a must to handle thermal expansion safely.
How It Works
In a closed hot water circuit, water cannot be compressed; volume increases from rising temperatures must be accommodated by an expansion vessel. When cold, the vessel's pre-charge pressure (factory set at 4.0 bar with nitrogen) keeps the internal bladder collapsed. As the pump starts and the system fills, the bladder inflates. With increasing system temperature and associated pressure/volume, expanded water enters the bladder, creating additional volume and stabilising pressure.

It's suitable for temperatures up to 70°C and has low gas permeability.
This Reflex 8L Potable Vessel is typically installed by a qualified G3 unvented systems engineer, ensuring correct sizing and pre-charge pressure. It's part of a system with other plumbing components like pressure relief valves, available here. We also stock fittings and Polypipe pipework.
