Specially designed water boosters are able to provide a reliable and constant flow at an adequate pressure rate. Many of these are used to ensure water gets to all parts of a building, whether a factory, school or other large premises. The majority of water boosters contain two pumps: a primary and a backup. In extremely high-demand environments, there are applications that may require three pumps.

These are available in either fixed or variable-speed models and are capable of generating pressures of up to 4.5 bar and flow rates of up to 100 litres per minute.
The Mainsboost iBoost CAT 5 range features a specially designed weir overflow, which means that they can be used in commercial/industrial settings where there is a potential risk of back-flow contamination from 'Category 5' fluids. These are designed to boost cold-water main supply to as much as 4.5 bar, and have a storage capacity of 200 litres.
