  • The condensate trap catches the water vapour which begins to form with the essential warming/cooling pipework.

  • An overflow pipe connected to the condensate trap at that point permits any held water out of the property.
  • The water contained inside the condensate trap can contain mild degrees of acid because of carbon dioxide from the boiler within the water.
  • This is the reason the overflow pipe is quite often made of plastic.
